BOTH FALL/SPRING AND SUMMER SESSIONS:
BOARDING
CADETS: Boarding students may bring items
for personal enjoyment such as a small television
(14"
maximum), self-contained stereo systems, radio, and personal
computer, provided such items fit in their desk space.
These items are not to be loaned to other cadets.
DAY
CADETS: Swim trunks, towel, sneakers/gym shoes,
shower shoes
BOARDING
AND DAY CADETS: All cadets are welcome to bring
sports equipment such as tennis racquests, baseball gloves,
and like items. However, some sports-related
gear is prohibited. See "What Not to Bring."
We
encourage cadets to bring their desk-top or lap-top
computers. Cadets may not borrow or loan computers or any other electronic equipment.
WHAT
NOT TO BRING: Prohibited Items
- Electrical
appliances (i.e., irons or hot plates), hair clippers,
shavers, beepers, pornographic material, cellular
phones with cameras, cordless phones, weapons,
knives, ammunition, explosives, flammable materials,
aerosol
cans.
- Credit
or debit cards, personal checks, or any other item
that my lead to a violation of the Honor Code.
- Bicycles,
regular or in-line skates, lacrosse sticks, personal
barbells or other weight-training
gear.
- Jewelry,
as there is virtually no opportunity to wear it,
or other expensive or irreplaceable personal items.
- Any
non-prescribed medication (i.e., Tylenol, aspirin,
Sudafed, ointments, powders, Q-tips, powdered power
drink mixes, and similar items). Prescription medication
must be turned in to the Academy Nurse at Check-In
for prescribed dispensation.
- No
food or candy in the dormitories.
- Music
or video cassettes, CDs, DVDs, or digital files
with explicit or profane lyrics.
- FAA
is not responsible for personal items, such as
(but not limited to) guitars, amplifiers, keyboards,
skateboards, and surfboards.
