- Is Accreditation for boarding schools necessary??
Absolutely. Accreditation implies approval of a
school's programs and their implementation. It implies ongoing
development and adherence to established standards. It demonstrates
to present and future clientele that your institution is serious
about its mission. It validates your school's hard work and
progress in a variety of important areas.
- Will there be sports available for female cadets?
Yes, Florida Air Academy encourages all female
cadets to participate in all sports and extracurricular
activities.
- Does Florida Air Academy have a campus newspaper?
Yes, we have "The Falconian," and new this
year is "The Falcon Press," an on-line newspaper
written by students. (See bottom of Home Page for
link)
- How do I communicate with my friends and family?
Each boarding female cadet has an individual telephone,
internet access, and a personal email address.
Students in grades 9-12 may also bring cell phones
if they are not camera phones.
- Can I go home on weekends?
Yes, we have a shuttle service that runs throughout
Florida.
- If I don't go home, what do I do on weekends?
All cadets in good standing may go on town leave,
to the movies, to the mall and various local activities.
Also offered are exciting trips to major
attractions
such as Disney World, Universal Studios,
and other Florida attractions.
- May my friends and family visit me on campus?
Yes, we encourage parents and family members not
only to visit but attend all Florida Air Academy
events. Friends
may also visit during visiting hours which
are listed in the cadet handbook.
