Affording a quality private school
education at FAA does take some planning and many
families employ
several strategies to bring costs within reach. In
such planning, it is important to realize that the
family bears the direct responsibility for financing
a child's education to the extent possible. After
that there are others that may be able to help with
your
efforts. To that end, we have included a list of
low interest tuition and student loan programs.Click
here to move to the fee schedule page with that list.
Many families use such services to reduce down payments
and to
take advantage of early tuition or student bank reductions.
Others borrow from personal retirement plans, refinance
property or seek assistance from relatives.
Florida Air Academy seeks to enroll qualified students
of character despite their financial circumstances.
We have a limited amount of need based financial aid
available to assist those deserving but needy students
in attending our school. All parents need to plan to
pay some expense; however, financial aid is not a loan
and does not need to be paid back.
To determine eligibility, you must enroll your child
and demonstrate a commitment to attend. This is accomplished
by completing and submitting an application and paying
the $2,600 application fee and tuition deposit. Upon
requesting financial aid through letter or a telephone
call to an FAA admissions counselor, you will be sent
a financial aid worksheet. The FAA school code is 3180.
You must complete this worksheet, Parents' Financial
Statement (PFS), and send a completed copy with required
documentation to School and Student Services (SSS)
with a $22 processing fee. The SSS process can be accomplished
on-line through the National Association of Independent
Schools (NAIS) web site at www.nais.org/financialaid/sss in
the admissions and financial aid section. This independent
third party
review is handled with a high degree of confidentiality.
It is impossible for a school to determine aid without
this verification of ability.
Once we receive the application, fees and deposit,
and the SSS results, our financial aid committee reviews
your request. This is a rolling process. The earlier
you complete your application, the earlier aid award
results can be made. Most awards are announced in May
via letter. Financial aid covers tuition and not personal
expenses or student bank accounts. Recipients are not
eligible for other student bank incentives. All recipients
of aid must reapply each year.
