ACADEMY ACADEMICS & PROGRAMS
Graphic Art |
|
Florida Air Academy prides itself on
its state-of-the-art technology courses and labs. Students
receive hands-on instruction using industry standard
Adobe and Macromedia software under the guidance of
a qualified graphic arts instructor.
Computer Graphics
 |
In the Computer Graphics course, students
use Adobe Illustrator to draw and design
artwork using concepts and features unique to
computer art. Adobe Photoshop is also introduced
and is used to create original and composite
artwork for print and the Web. Upon completion
of the course, students will have compiled
a collection of original artwork in portfolio
form. Click on the picture at the right

Web Design
Students plan, develop, and publish well-designed
web sites that combine effective navigation with appropriate
use of graphics, animation, interactivity, text, color,
and sound. Macromedia's Dreamweaver, Flash, Fireworks,
and Adobe's Photoshop are used to create visual organizers
for the development of a web site plan as well as
creating links, tables, frames, image maps, dynamic
content, and web graphics. Students become proficient
in writing, testing, and debugging specific HTML code
and demonstrate understanding of techniques used to
maintain a web site, addressing the issues of storage,
uploading, downloading, and file management.
Digital Photography
In the Digital Photography course, students concentrate
on composition through the use of black and white
photography. Several cameras are constructed to experiment
with focal lengths and wide-angle effects. Students
set up a dark room to develop negative and positive
prints. Students learn to use digital cameras manually
and to be responsible for photographing all events
at Florida Air Academy, color correcting and cataloging
each picture. |
