Leadership qualities are essential in this competitive world.  Colleges and universities look for these qualities in their admissions process.  Success in the job world requires them also.  Florida Air Academy’s philosophy pertaining to leadership is a very simple one.  The Academy believes that every student has the potential to be a leader, whether in the classroom, in the dormitories, or on the athletic field.  We strive to provide every opportunity for each student to experience the exhilaration and esteem-building possibilities of being placed in leadership situations. This life-altering experience is accomplished under the watchful eye and close guidance of FAA’s experienced faculty and staff.

Before the school year even begins, Leadership School is underway, a six day program to train and develop the skills of students who will hold leadership positions during the next school year.  These students study such topics as "What Makes a Good Leader," "Defining Leadership," "Effective Communications Styles," "Personal Values and Decision Making," "Ethics," "Conflict Management," and many other topics.  Then these students are equipped to pass along these skills to the rest of the student body when the school year begins.
