General Information about our GIrls' Program

In 2005, Florida Air Academy officially became a co-educational boarding and day school. That year we enrolled over fifty young women, and girls now comprise one-third of our student body.  The girls have been a significant contributor to the life of the school, and they have definitely raised the bar academically.  Three out of the last five valedictorians have been girls!  Being co-ed means our students are now more prepared for college and the world beyond, as they will be studying and working with both men and women in those environments.

Young women at FAA enjoy the same challenging curriculum as the boys do, both inside and outside the classroom. Small classes, a structured environment emphasizing leadership and character development, and exciting extracurricular programs including the opportunity to learn to fly....Florida Air Academy has much to offer a young woman looking for excellence in her education. Sports are a vital part of a young woman's educational experience also and FAA encourages girls to also excel on the playing fields. 

When our students arrive on campus, they are issued the polo shirts, shorts, and pants that are worn four days a week.  They also receive standard PE uniforms which are shorts and t-shirts, sweatpants and sweatshirts.  Additionally, they are issued an AFJROTC uniform which consists of dress slacks, shirt, belt and shoes, which is worn once a week and for parades. 

• Moderate jewelry is allowed
• Make-up (tasteful, not heavy amounts - natural look)
• Neutral/soft color nail polish permissible
• Hair styles are to be neat. No hair dyed to unnatural colors.
