Dormitories/ Facilities

Facilities:

F.A.A. is comprised of over 20 acres of beautiful historic buildings and tropically landscaped grounds.  Five separate classroom buildings are located on campus.  Unique facilities include the stunning Hall of Flags which houses comfortable leather couches and flat screen TV's, and a game room with pool, foosball and ping pong.  The infirmary is also located here, as well as the dining hall.

An outdoor stage has picnic tables and and a "tiki-hut" that is a popular spot to relax.  A fully-stocked campus store and snack bar (the "canteen") with hot snacks as well as fruit smoothies and other treats is just off the main building.

Playing fields, gymnasium, weight room and tennis courts are all on campus, and a city golf course is across the street.  Olympic sized pools are only 5-10 minutes away.

There are many benches and picnic tables where students can socialize and study all over the lovely, tree-filled campus.

Dormitories:

Our dormitories are being constantly upgraded. Our campus-wide program of installing new dormitory windows is continuing, and new girls' rooms were recently renovated.

In the girls' dorm there is an attractive girls-only lounge with wide-screen T.V., couches and a treadmill for indoor exercising.  The lounge provides a warm, comfortable atmosphere for the girls when they need some privacy.

Filtered Internet access is available also in the dorms.

Points of interest:

  • Tactical officers in the dorms provide supervision, guidance, and a caring adult to talk to outside of the classroom.

  • Small refrigerators are a perk for the students who have leadership positions.

  • Dorm rooms have bunks, as well as individual desks and wall storage units.  Rooms hold between 2-4 occupants, depending on the size of the room.

  • Most rooms contain students from different countries so they may learn each others' cultures!
