| | Our Florida Air Academy athletics program places a strong emphasis on physical education and athletic competition at both the intramural and interscholastic level. All students are encouraged (but not required) to participate in some kind of athletics. We offer a wide variety of sports and outdoor activities. Many of our athletic teams and clubs have competed and earned trophies and awards in regional and state competitions. Click HERE to view the Video Congratulations to Boys' Varsity Head Basketball Coach Aubin Goporo on his 300th win! We are so proud that he has reached this tremendous milestone Our Falcons have brought home many State Championships in basketball, baseball, as well as gold medals in track and field. Last year at the London Summer Olympics we had two alumni competing, Sasha Kaun in basketball for his home country of Russia, and Leevan Sands (Bahamas) in track! Leevan won a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics. "Watch parties" occurred in the Hall of Flags as we cheered on our Falcons. Sasha won a bronze medal and Leevan came in 5th despite being injured in the competition and unable to finish. WE'RE PROUD OF OUR FALCON OLYMPIANS! Basketball news: This year our Boys Varsity Basketball team were Regional Champions and went to the Final Four State Playoffs, and several seniors received full athletic scholarships to the colleges of their choice. This year our Girls' Basketball team were Regional Finalists! Many of our graduates have gone on to play college basketball including Walter Hodge at UF, Sasha Kaun at Kansas, and Jamie Kaplan at Tulane. For the first time one of our graduates plays for the NBA (Jerome Jordan). Current Detroit Tigers superstar Prince Fielder attended F.A.A. for three years. In addition: | | | - Our athletics program has also garnered us District and Regional titles in baseball, soccer, boys' basketball, tennis and girls' basketball. Swimmer Kevin He went to State this past season. Our Boys' Varsity Basketball coach Aubin Goporo has 5 state championships under his belt and is one of the "winningest" high school basketball coaches in the U.S.!
| | | - We offer such sports as basketball, baseball, tennis, cross-country, golf, softball, soccer, swimming, volleyball, weight lifting, wrestling, track, and more. Surfing in Brevard County is legendary and has produced such standouts as the Hobgood brothers and Kelly Slater. Students may participate in skateboarding also.
- New this past year were archery and crew! Many medals resulted from both teams!
